NEW YEAR. NEW LAWS. NEW BOARDS.

Let’s start the year off moving in the right direction! Every January, many association Boards turnover in part or entirety. New legislation has been enacted and it’s time for the Board and CAMS to ensure the Association is in full compliance.

The easiest, most entertaining and cost effective way to achieve this, is by attending Eric’s Condo Craze and HOA’s Board Certification Seminar and it’s FREE! Eric always ensures he discusses all new legislation and what this means for Boards, Homeowners and CAM’s. But let’s take being proactive a little further! After attending the Board Certification Seminar, work with your legal counsel or your CAM to develop a “year begin checklist” for future boards. Include items such as

  1. Process DPBR payment

  2. Register with the Secretary of State

  3. Send out Rules and Regulations to all owners

  4. Obtain Board certification certificates for association records.

  5. Obtain bids for accounting audit.

  6. File notice in accordance with 720.3032 (if applicable)

This example can be edited as needed with new property requirements and new legislative items added. We suggest completing the checklist by January 31 of each year, then make it part of the association records.

Our firm has utilized this process for over 20 years and have found it a valuable tool ensuring no new requirement is overlooked!
