WHAT WOULD YOU CHANGE?

I truly believe that some legislators look for issues they can put into a bill for the fun of it. With all the truly important issues our society faces today, do we really need to waste time and effort on bills that do nothing to better the lifestyle experience and protect the financial well-being of every homeowner in an association? ABSOLUTELY NOT!

For the fun of it, I decided to introduce my own bills. What would your vote be?

DTW BILL 101

Homeowners Associations and Condominium Associations are now governed under FL-718. There shall be no difference in regulation between either.

DTW BILL 102

Homeowners Associations shall be a part and subject to the DBPR and all its entitlement benefits and costs.

DTW BILL 103

All Association Board of Directors shall attend a board certification class within

90-days of being elected and a 2 hour annual certification renewal class each year thereafter, during their term or continued term.

Seems a little silly, right? I may not be a politician or an attorney but I do know the true changes needed in our industry.
