HOUSE LEADERSHIP – SPROWLS + PEREZ -- FAILED CONDO OWNERS

After looking into all the details and the excuses made to
explain the failure of the CONDO SAFETY BILL it’s pretty obvious
that these two young attorneys – Sprowls and Perez – clearly
didn’t understand the meaning of the word “SAFETY”.
Their excuses for allowing the bill that passed the Senate in a
unanimous vote of 38:0 to just die without action from House
leadership is plainly PATHETIC. They obviously haven't
gotten the message yet that they are supposed to represent the
interests of Florida's citizens, not their private agendas.
After the collapse of the Champlain Towers South Hi-Rise that
has cost the life of 98 people, the word “SAFETY”
was the magic word. Everything else was an addition to the
necessary safety provisions. And
CS/HB 7069 – the HOUSE BILL that was unanimously voted
YEAH by the Senate in a rare bi-partisan vote, included all the
safety provisions. As much as I understand that the financing of
the cost created by the reserve study, the engineer’s reports
and the necessary maintenance and repairs, the first priority
was to create the safety measures to protect the families living
in these condominium hi-rises.
THE VERDICT IS CLEAR: HOUSE LEADERSHIP FAILED MORE THAN 1.5
MILLION FLORIDA CONDO-OWNERS!
A special
session of the Florida Legislature is needed to make sure that
98 people didn’t die in vain.

developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues
for his own purposes. End of retirement!

We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all
service providers surely have a different interest! We are
trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are
useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking
