3 SIMPLE TIPS

There is no way around it; tough times are coming for associations in the next few years. Between new legislation and a downturn in the economy, it will get turbulent in many associations. However, it's not a time to panic or quit. It's time to reframe, understand what's to come and keep moving forward. Below I've listed three tips to help you with this process.

  1. Communicate - Where it be via monthly newsletters, emails, or videos, let the residents know what to expect.

  2. Meetings - Host meetings virtually to increase participation and get your message out to the community

  3. Community Event / Townhall - Host an event and invite your association attorney, engineer, management, and contractor so they can help disseminate the message to the owners.

The earlier you start taking these steps, the easier it will be for you as a board member. Holding back information because you aren't sure how the residents will take it will make things more challenging. Get ahead of it and communicate every step of the way.
