RESPECT AND SUPPORT OUR LEADERS

We are very aware of the great divide our nation is currently facing due to the presidential election result. I won’t share my views or thoughts on these results, because ultimately I will offend 50% of you. However this current chaos, division and volatility are representative of many of the elections held in associations. These reactions only differ in their magnitude.

The DBPR is inundated in claims of fraudulent votes, discrimination, unqualified candidates and miscounts. Okay, so maybe associations can’t blame Russian government for interference, but otherwise, the reaction to a candidate losing mimics those of faction of the American people at this time.

As Americans, we must accept our newly elected President and hope that our country prospers under his leadership. The majority of the public can’t simply recall him. But as an owner in an association, you do have the ability to recall board members. True, the process is difficult, time consuming and requires a majority of the owners to get involved. But you do have that option. So, just how unhappy are you with your board? Unhappy enough to get involved? If not, then support those individuals so that they can do a good job. Give them your support and in the end, everyone benefits.
