We certainly are seeing more and more accusations of misappropriation of Association funds these days. Which by the way is just a nice way of saying “More accusations of Board Members stealing”. I could be wrong, but I believe the push for education and the FREE Board certification classes hosted by Eric’s firm have created more awareness of what Association Boards can and cannot do and is making the tide turn. More Board members are learning the way things have been done may not be legal or ethical and their demanding change for their Association and that those at fault be held accountable. It very well could be that we see drastic, yet needed, improvement in the actions taken by Boards and CAMs. Do you think it’s possible that the education of Board Members is helping in the discovery of inappropriate actions by a Board or CAM?
