IS IT REALLY A SOCIAL CLUB?

Am I the only one that sees a potential problem with allowing any and every one to start a “committee” under the guise of a “social club”? Please forgive me for being suspicious, but having dealt with some of the crazy shenanigans that go on in South Florida, let me paint a picture of what I believe could transpire.

Aggravated Angie mistrusts her board and doesn’t agree with the way her association is being run. She solicits Naysayer Nancy, Bully Bill and Mischievous Marvin to join her for weekly “Social Club” meetings. During these meetings they drink wine and complain about everything the board is or is not doing! Soon they have invited neighbors and the club grows because, “Misery loves Company”, and now this social club has decided that they will speak for the community. They have self-appointed their group to give lists and complaints to the management team, who is spending 75% of their time dealing with the social committee. They establish a Facebook page, twitter account and are constantly posting incorrect information! Finally, the bottom falls out! The management staff resigns, the board resigns and no one in the “Social Club” wants the headache of being on the board. Do you think I went too far? Could it happen? My guess is absolutely!
