THE TOP TWO ARE……

The new laws seem to be moving in the right direction and my top two favorites are:

1.      718-111 CRIMINAL CONDUCT – There is no question, that voter fraud or election fraud, is one of the most prevalent complaints that we hear in South Florida, and throughout the state. Harsh punishments are needed to curtail these activities.  But, does the time fit the crime”? I say NO! Throw the book at them and ban them from ever serving on an association board or committee again.

2.      718-111 REQUIREMENT TO PLACE OFFICIAL RECORDS ON A WEBSITE - This solves so many issues. As you know the number one complaint the DPBR receives is related to the refusal to allow review of records, and most of our readers know how much this refusal irritates me. Now there is no need to accommodate schedules or charge for copies. The owner can simply click and review and print. But if you are a condo association, smaller than 150 units and or an HOA, this doesn’t apply to you!

This law does not make great changes to benefit larger associations, but shouldn’t it be all inclusive for all condos and HOA’s? How about you, which is your favorite?
