DON’T BOTHER GETTING YOUR CAM LICENSE, GET YOUR LAW DEGREE!

I originally wrote this article in January 2015, and no my opinion has not changed. However, I would challenge lawmakers to spend more time passing legislation that protects individuals who own homes in an HOA, hold the banks and developers more accountable and less time passing these types of rulings. This way, we just might see some positive impacts to the operations of associations in Florida.

Well it’s a new year, but unfortunately it’s the same old bologna when it comes to Florida’s regulations of the operation and management for Associations!

Really, I need a law degree to enable me to calculate a percentage of a whole! Gosh, I thought I learned basic math in grade school! Am I the only one not surprised that those in the court system keep finding ways to increase billable hours for attorneys? I hold a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for Eric and the attorneys at his firm and certainly mean no offense by my statements. I completely agree that there are many times when the Association attorney should be present, especially when there is unrest amongst the homeowners. But if a licensed trained CAM can’t determine the quorum needed for a meeting, then maybe only attorneys should be licensed as CAM’s.
