As
the saying goes, “Times, they are a changing” and for
HOA’s it is a move in the right direction.
It’s
true that many Americans feel the Government is far too involved
in every aspect of our daily lives, and I don’t disagree.
However, not all involvement is bad!!
The
requirement for all Florida HOA’s, Condominiums, Timeshares
and Mobile Homes to register with the division of Florida
Condominiums by November 22, 2013 is a move towards offering
assistance to HOA’s by the DPBR. Just imagine, members of
HOA’s will now have the ability to call the DPBR for advice,
information, guidance and supervision. Something Condominium
owners have benefitted from for years.
As
HOA’s become familiar with utilizing the services afforded to
them by the DPBR, I predict many HOA members will see a more
professional level of Management from their Boards and a higher
level of accountability and transparency in their operations. In
an effort to ensure all HOA Board Members fully understand these
changes, I highly recommend they take advantage of Eric’s Free
Board Certification Classes. You can find available dates and

legislation. You can also sign up for Jan’s newsletter at www.ccfj.net.
