2014, TIME FOR LCAMS TO CHANGE

Everyone could stand to improve in one area or another. Each year we ask the Board Members to make resolutions. This year, Eric asked the Homeowners to adopt resolutions. But I have to tell you, speaking as an industry professional; I think the LCAMs need to give serious consideration to the following resolutions.

  1. Never, EVER sign a contract on behalf of the Association!

  2. Meet every request for documents with the highest level of enthusiasm and customer service, making it comfortable and easy for the person making the request.

  3. Respond in kindness and professionalism to every Homeowner! Yes, even those you hate to see coming!

Lastly, speak up and give your Board sound, professional advice. Far too often Managers keep silent on matters when they are fully aware that the Board is making a decision based on emotion rather than proper protocol. It never pays to simply be a “yes man”. LCAMs should take their responsibility to guide the Board in making sound decisions seriously.

Here’s hoping that 2014 will be an unprecedented year of peace, harmony and increased property values for all of our Florida HOA’s and Condominiums.
