DID YOU HEAR THE ONE ABOUT THE LAWYER?

Lawyers are among the most joked about individuals, second only to Mother in Laws! But the current antics of the Florida Bar Association (defined as advocates, attorneys, attorneys at law, barristers, counsel, counselors, jurists, lawyers, the legal fraternity, legal profession, legists and solicitors) is nothing to joke about.

CAM’s and Board Members should take notice. The Bar is seeking to introduce legislation, greatly restricting what actions and tasks can or cannot be performed by a LCAM under the guise of “Many of the tasks currently handled by LCAM’s are considered practicing law without a license”. As John Stossel says, GIVE ME A BREAK! In addition, the Bar claims that they are spending too much time correcting mistakes made by the LCAMs. REALLY?!  An attorney complaining about how many billable hours they have? They ARE joking, right?

Am I the only one who understands that by limiting tasks that can be performed by an LCAM requiring them to be done by legal counsel they will be guaranteed MORE BILLABLE HOURS? Apparently they believe that Boards and Homeowners aren’t smart enough to understand the difference between paying an LCAM $30 (estimated per hour) to complete a task or an attorney $300 (estimated per hour) for the same task!

Show the Bar the jokes on them, speak up about this. What do you think?
