Silence is Golden, Or Is It?

My mother, who is a very wise woman, taught me from a young age, never to discuss religion or politics in public.

 

I believe many of us were raised to follow this same rule. I often think it is a hindrance in ensuring the right candidate is elected. I also believe this holds true for Presidential elections as well as Association Board Elections.

 

The media and candidates tell us exactly what they want us to think and believe. Facts are twisted to put each in the light that best suits their objectives.

 

The current Presidential election is a clear representation of this.  According to both candidates, they are both worthless and we (the voters) are stupid!

 

My suggestion would be to require all candidates running for office to wear a portable lie detector, which would sound an alarm each time they misspoke or misrepresented an issue. I am confident, we the voters would experience a more peaceful campaign, be provided more factual information and there would be a lot less mudslinging. We might even be able to determine a candidate’s true abilities and agenda, giving a clearer picture of the right choice.

 Just imagine….

 

ON ANOTHER NOTE:  MAY GOD BLESS ALL THOSE AFFECTED IN 9/11.  May your families know peace and happiness and may God protect our country…………………
