THERE’S LOTS OF RESOURCES OUT THERE

This is the time of year that my family starts to
see less and less of me. I’m writing this column from a hotel
room in Bradenton, Florida. Tomorrow morning I have the honor
of kicking off the L&L Condominium and HOA Expo by teaching our
Condo Craze and HOAs Board Certification Course for both
condominium and HOA directors. The good folks at L&L have
several other Expos this month that I will be teaching at as
well:
October 14, 2015 — 9am, at the Palm Beach
Convention Center
October 21, 2015 — 9am, at the Tampa Bay Convention Center
October 29, 2015 — 9am, at the Miami Beach Convention Center
To register for our board certification course at any of
these venues, just go to

The team at L&L puts on a real nice event. Many of
you have attended their Expos and know that there are lots of
vendors displaying their services, lots of educational courses,
lunch is served and a good time is generally had by all.
Association law is certainly unique in that it is
the only area of the law that I know where the attorneys that
practice in the area so often get to teach the community about
the area of law they practice. It seems as if between L&L, the
seminars that I put on throughout the state, and the other trade
show events, there is so much available to board members and all
owners in Florida community associations. With so much
available, it’s upsetting that there are still directors out
there who shamelessly decide to get certified by signing that
ridiculous affidavit, instead of attending a class that’s free
for a few hours.
Take advantage of these events. Go to the classes.
Meet with the instructors. Ask questions. Pick the brains of
the various vendors. Question management companies about their
particular practices. Speak to the representatives of the
various law firms usually in attendance. It really is a great
opportunity.
For those of you who are already familiar with these
events, tell us what you like and perhaps what you don’t like
about them. For those that will be attending the L&L events
this month, I really look forward to meeting all of you.
