This
week is the one year anniversary of our weekly blog.
When Jan, Darlys and I started this venture we hoped we
could get a few people to read our thoughts each week and
occasionally comment. We
never thought we would get thousands of hits each month on our
website and a plethora of comments.
I
can only say that I am deeply flattered and humbled by the fact
that so many Floridians actually care about what I say each
Monday regarding what is going on in our associations throughout
Florida
. Each time someone
posts a comment and responds to a blog and engages the other
readers and me in debate, it only makes me want to write more.
It
is an honor to be followed on Wednesdays and Fridays by people
who simply have a tremendous passion for what they do.
Darlys seems to be in a different city every day, but
manages to get her column in each and every week. Her
straightforward and realistic approach to solving association
problems is more than refreshing and welcome.
Unit
owners and Board members should both know that they have a
friend in Jan Bergemann. Here's
a guy who makes it clear time and again that he's more
interested in laws that protect the people who actually live in
the community associations, rather than laws that protect the
people who make money from them.
His commitment and dedication to the passage of laws that
keep costs down in associations, promotes education and a more
harmonious community is unmatched, as is the number of hours he
spends each week keeping in touch with CCFJ members on any and
all issues effecting associations around the country.
For
the past year, I have thoroughly enjoyed starting the work week
off by having my column on your screen when you wake up.
And as long as it's not putting you right back to sleep,
I look forward to continuing to meet you every Monday morning
throughout the year. Thanks
for allowing me the opportunity to speak to you each week.
