COLLUSION IN ELECTIONS?

By Jan Bergemann

Collusion in elections is all the hype in Washington. The circus is in town? The Democrats have accused President Donald Trump of collusion with Russia, meaning using deceiving, misleading, and/or fraudulent methods during the election to rob poor Hillary Clinton of her well-deserved victory. So the saying goes by the Democrats! But so far the accusers failed to supply any kind of proof of their numerous allegations.

But talking collusion in elections? Just go to community associations: The elections are a joke – and you can accuse nearly every sitting board of colluding – not with Russians or the Chinese – but with the managers and the association attorney. These so-called service providers will do about everything to keep the sitting board re-elected, since new boards often tend to fire the management company and/or the association attorney. It's all about job-security! Don’t forget: Many of the recalls and elections of new board members are caused by the majority of owners being unhappy with the services of the CAM and/or the association attorney.

Elections in HOAs are open to fraud and deceit since the statutes (FS 720.306) allow about every kind of fraud without breaking the laws.

Condo elections are a little more regulated, but now electronic voting opened the door to fraud again – fraud without a paper-trail. All the sitting board has to do is cozy up with computer guy running the election – and not even Muller could find any proof of wrongdoing!

And if election disputes go to arbitration? The outcome is like a crapshoot – nobody can predict what happens since it seems the arbitrators roll the dice to decie the outcome.

Elections in community associations? Full of collusion and fraud!

associations. He moved to Florida in 1995 - hoping to retire. He moved into a HOA, where the developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues for his own purposes. End of retirement!

CCFJ was born in the year 2000, when some owners met in Tallahassee - finding out that power is only in numbers. Bergemann was a member of Governor Jeb Bush's HOA Task force in 2003/2004.

The organization has two websites to inform interested Florida homeowners and condo owners:

We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all service providers surely have a different interest! We are trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking in Florida !
