SCAMS, EMBEZZLEMENT, ELECTION FRAUD – BUSINESS AS USUAL IN
FLORIDA’S COMMUNITY ASSOCIATIONS

Let’s face it: Scams, embezzlement and election fraud will be
part of Florida’s community association business as long as the
Florida legislature continues to create useless laws without
creating the necessary enforcement and regulation of all these
laws – and our law enforcement agencies continue to look at it
as a “civil matter.” Our government more or less forces buyers
to deal with community associations. Barely any home/condo built
in the last ten years is located within a community association.
Why is our government so eager to push people into associations?
Easy explanation: Double taxation! Our government collects the
full property taxes, but because maintenance fees in
associations already pays for a lot of things property taxes,
our government gets lots of money for doing NOTHING!
And make no mistake: If you are being told that community
associations provide easy, carefree living you sure have been
told a big huge LIE! I thing one judge summed it up when
he said: “In former times I dealt with two neighbors fighting
over little issues that could be easily resolved by a simple
ruling, asking both parties to shake hands and go home. Now
these neighborly feuds cause year-long lawsuits at huge costs,
prolonged by expensive attorneys in Armani suits. And when all
is said and done neighbors hate each other even more than before
the lawsuit started.”
And if you read the media reports about all these scams,
embezzlement and election fraud you know that the claim of the
industry that these community associations serve owners well is
absolutely wrong. In all reality these community associations
are beloved by the service-providers, but hated by many owners.
As long as the Florida legislature refuses to listen to the
pleas of millions of owners to create more owner-friendly laws
combined with regulation and enforcement the disaster we see
reflected in many articles daily in Florida’s media will
continue!
WELCOME TO FRAUD-FRIENDLY FLORIDA!

associations. He moved to
Florida
in 1995 - hoping to retire. He moved into a HOA, where the
developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues
for his own purposes. End of retirement!
CCFJ was born in the year 2000, when some owners met in
Tallahassee
- finding out that power is only in numbers. Bergemann was a
member of Governor Jeb Bush's HOA Task force in 2003/2004.
The organization has two websites to inform interested
Florida
homeowners and condo owners:

We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all
service providers surely have a different interest! We are
trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are
useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking
