LET’S BLAME THE ATTORNEYS!

Yes, we have hurricanes each year in
Florida – and these hurricanes are causing lots of damage. But
we knew that when we moved to Florida.
In my opinion there are two reasons
for the property insurance crisis: Our government still allowing
not hurricane-safe structures to be built – and greedy
attorneys!
REASON 1: Mobile homes and homes built with
2”x4”s will not withstand even light hurricane winds. Year for
year these “unsafe” buildings are being rebuilt and insurance
companies are paying for it. What is wrong with these people
creating Florida’s building codes? They allow these unsafe
structures to be rebuilt every time they are destroyed. Do these
folks expect a different outcome when the next hurricane hits
Florida?
REASON 2: The attorneys of the Florida BAR!
Make no mistake, more than half of our elected officials in
Tallahassee are attorneys – and they take care of their
profession, making sure that their pockets are well-filled. They
created laws that made it easy for attorneys to drum up business
by convincing owners to sue insurance companies, even making
claims that are “invented”? How would you feel – for example --
about the claim that a 25-year old roof was destroyed by hail –
demanding to get a brand-new roof at the expense of the
insurance company – and adding big amounts of legal fees to this
demand? Roofers and attorneys worked hand in hand.
Florida has turned into a sue-happy
state – and insurance companies are rather moving out of the
state instead of being willing to make attorneys rich. Insurance
companies are a business – and they want to make profits like
every business.
I’m not blaming the insurance
companies for Florida’s property insurance crisis, in my opinion
it’s a crisis we created ourselves – with the help of
legislators and attorneys!

Florida
in 1995 - hoping to retire. He moved into a HOA, where the
developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues
for his own purposes. End of retirement!
CCFJ was born in the year 2000, when some owners met in
Tallahassee
- finding out that power is only in numbers. Bergemann was a
member of Governor Jeb Bush's HOA Task force in 2003/2004.
The organization has two websites to inform interested
Florida
homeowners and condo owners:

Educational Website: http://www.ccfjfoundation.net/.
We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all
service providers surely have a different interest! We are
trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are
useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking
in
Florida
