WATCH OUT FOR HURRICANE DORIAN!

I’ll think we’ll see this Labor Day
weekend if all the talk about “BEING PREPARED”
really works. The warnings about hurricane Dorian are out and it
seems to be aiming right at Central Florida. We can only hope
that the news casters predicting this serious storm are about as
wrong as they are normally with their political news.
But nevertheless: Everybody here in
Florida should be prepared, because it really looks like some of
us are getting hit really hard.
As you have seen on Eric’s blog on
Monday, even the Florida legislature did its share [FS
718.1265(Condo Act) and
FS
720.316 (HOA Act)].
Have a list of good contractors – just
in case – and enough water and food. And remember: Our
electrical supply system is about 50 years behind modern
technology – meaning: Be prepared to lose electricity for quite
a while if your area gets hit. Believe me, nothing has changed
in the last few years. Even if your electrical power-lines are
underground on your private property, the big supply lines are
not.
GET READY and DUCK – and let’s pray that
all goes well and Florida doesn’t suffer too much damage.
STAY SAFE!

associations. He moved to
Florida
in 1995 - hoping to retire. He moved into a HOA, where the
developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues
for his own purposes. End of retirement!
CCFJ was born in the year 2000, when some owners met in
Tallahassee
- finding out that power is only in numbers. Bergemann was a
member of Governor Jeb Bush's HOA Task force in 2003/2004.
The organization has two websites to inform interested
Florida
homeowners and condo owners:
News Website: http://www.ccfj.net/.
Educational Website: http://www.ccfjfoundation.net/.
We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all
service providers surely have a different interest! We are
trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are
useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking
in
Florida
