DO WE HAVE MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR?

I hope you and your families had a wonderful Thanksgiving.

I am normally very much into positive thinking, but this year I don’t think we have to have much to be thankful for.

Let’s be thankful that we live in Florida. We are doing a lot better than most other states in the Union.

But that’s about it!

In short: Our “glorious” government in Washington screwed up about everything they were able to screw up. I hope that all of you were all able to afford visiting family and friends as planned. The cost of traveling has gone sky-high and I really have to laugh when our morons in Washington claim that the price of gas has gone down in recent weeks. This reminds me of the special offers of many stores: 50% DISCOUNT (after adding 200% to the regular price). Let’s see: On January 16, 2021 our gas-station at the corner charged $2.04.9 for regular gas. Now they are charging $3.49.9 for regular. Does that mean the price went down?

And if you had family and friends visiting and wanted to put on a nice Thanksgiving feast you had to wonder about the food prices – if you were lucky enough to get everything you wanted to buy!

Many folks living in hi-rise condo associations are still wondering how to pay for all the cost added to the monthly maintenance fees by the recently enacted CONDO SAFETY BILL. Many families are asking: Can we afford the monthly bills or do we have to sell to avoid foreclosure?

On a positive note: Let’s hope it is getting better in the near future and we can say a lot more positive things next year on Thanksgiving!

associations. He moved to Florida in 1995 - hoping to retire. He moved into a HOA, where the developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues for his own purposes. End of retirement!

CCFJ was born in the year 2000, when some owners met in Tallahassee - finding out that power is only in numbers. Bergemann was a member of Governor Jeb Bush's HOA Task force in 2003/2004.

The organization has two websites to inform interested Florida homeowners and condo owners:

News Website: http://www.ccfj.net/.

Educational Website: http://www.ccfjfoundation.net/.

We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all service providers surely have a different interest! We are trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking in Florida !
