BOARD PRESIDENT = DICTATOR?

I hear it all too often from owners
and even from other board members: “Our President is a
DICTATOR!”
The president makes decisions without
asking the other board members, advises the management company
not to allow other board members to inspect the records, pursues
his/her private agenda and decides to punish owners with
violation letters and fines without using the process required
by the Florida statutes.
Remember: “POWER CORRUPTS, MORE
POWER CORRUPTS EVEN MORE!”
And/or the other board members are sit
by idly and allow the board president to be a dictator.
These other board members have to
understand that they are as guilty as the president himself by
allowing him to be a dictator. And if an owner finally decides
that “enough is enough” and takes the case the
court/arbitration, these other board members will be as much
named as defendants as the board president.
The other board members have to
realize that it would be really easy to stop this dictatorial
person to be the president. A president serves at the pleasure
of the board, and as quickly as he/she can be elected president,
he/she can be removed from office (not the board) by simple
majority vote of the board.
Motion, Second – Vote: Adios!
Never forget: A person elected as the
board president can only be a DICTATOR if the other board
members allow him/her to be the DICTATOR!

in 1995 - hoping to retire. He moved into a HOA, where the
developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues
for his own purposes. End of retirement!
CCFJ was born in the year 2000, when some owners met in
Tallahassee
- finding out that power is only in numbers. Bergemann was a
member of Governor Jeb Bush's HOA Task force in 2003/2004.
The organization has two websites to inform interested
Florida
homeowners and condo owners:

Educational Website: http://www.ccfjfoundation.net/.
We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all
service providers surely have a different interest! We are
trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are
useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking
in
Florida
