Well, we are closing in on the biggest holidays of the year and
Dianne and I want to wish you and your families a
MERRY CHRISTMAS and
a HAPPY NEW YEAR.
Here is our wish for all of you: “Peace
on earth and good will to men!”
But after many years of peace there was no peace on Earth this
year. Two serious ground wars are being waged. Let us all work
together on restoring peace as quickly as possible. Minimum that
should be a bi-partisan effort!
On New Year’s Day 2024 CCFJ will celebrate its 25th
Birthday. For a quarter of a century we have tried our best
to help owners in need and push for owner-friendly bills in
Tallahassee. It’s a very slow process, because many owners are
more into complaining instead of helping to push our Legislative
Wish List.
The next legislative session is about to start on January 9
and the Florida Legislature will have to come up with some
exceptional great bills, if they want to prevent many families
from losing their home.
The property insurance crisis and the huge increases of
maintenance fees in hi-rise condos caused by the provisions of
SB 154 are creating financial havoc for many
families. Add the high cost of litigation in all community
associations caused by the total lack of government enforcement
and you have the making of another financial disaster like we
saw in 2007/2008.
Enjoy the holidays and relax for a few days – the New Year will
bring lots of challenges we need to resolve.

associations. He moved to
Florida
in 1995 - hoping to retire. He moved into a HOA, where the
developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues
for his own purposes. End of retirement!
CCFJ was born in the year 2000, when some owners met in
Tallahassee
- finding out that power is only in numbers. Bergemann was a
member of Governor Jeb Bush's HOA Task force in 2003/2004.
The organization has two websites to inform interested
Florida
homeowners and condo owners:
News Website: http://www.ccfj.net/.
Educational Website: http://www.ccfjfoundation.net/.
We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all
service providers surely have a different interest! We are
trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are
useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking
in
Florida
