KNOWLEDGE IS POWER

That’s the Headline of our Educational Website – a website that explains how things can – and should -- be done in community associations. It’s a 101 for all owners and board members living in Florida’s community associations. Lots of money is wasted caused by ignorance – or the ridiculous statement: We have always done it this way!

In my opinion everybody wanting to serve on the board of directors should be willing to give three hours of his/her time to learn what statutes and rules are applicable to run such a community. Isn’t that too much to ask from a person who will be responsible for the financial welfare of his/her neighbors?

Make no mistake, wrong decisions – or violating the statutes can quickly lead to special assessments, assessments not all owners may be able to afford. We have seen cases where unpaid special assessments lead to liens and foreclosures.

One of the best seminars helping board members to understand the rules and regulations applicable to condos and HOAS is Eric Glazer’s board member certification seminar “CondoCraze & HOAs.”

On Sunday, May 18th, 2014 at 9:00 AM at The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino you can not only enjoy good food – for free, you can as well be part of the LIVE RADIO SHOW that is being aired live from the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

Get certified as a board member by attending the seminar and learn a lot more by attending many other great classes offered at this event.

Once you participate in these educational seminars you have the power to do things right!

Last year this event was a great day for fun and education down in South Florida. Mark your calendar – and learn how to do things the way things should be done!

Jan Bergemann Jan Bergemann is president of Cyber Citizens For Justice, Florida 's largest state-wide property owners' advocacy group. CCFJ works on legislation to help owners living in community

associations. He moved to Florida in 1995 - hoping to retire. He moved into a HOA, where the developer cheated the homeowners and used the association dues for his own purposes. End of retirement!

CCFJ was born in the year 2000, when some owners met in Tallahassee - finding out that power is only in numbers. Bergemann was a member of Governor Jeb Bush's HOA Task force in 2003/2004.

The organization has two websites to inform interested Florida homeowners and condo owners:

News Website: http://www.ccfj.net/.

Educational Website: http://www.ccfjfoundation.net/.

We think that only owners can really represent owners, since all service providers surely have a different interest! We are trying to create owner-friendly laws, but the best laws are useless without enforcement. And enforcement is totally lacking in Florida !
