THE TIME WILL COME…

Over the
past few weeks, most of us have learned how privileged we are
because of the technological advancements we have today compared to
other generations. Can you imagine what this pandemic would have
looked like in the 80s,70s, or 60s without such communication
advancements?
Luckily,
these advancements in technology will create an environment that is
more efficient and productive, allowing the lives of both residents
and its board to be more productive. Like Eric, my team and I have
experienced that Board meetings are meant to conduct business and
move the associations business forward. No different than your
local council or city meeting. However, we can't lose sight of one
of the many reason’s associations are built, and that’s to create a
sense of community amongst its neighbors. I’m a firm believer that
if you apply the technological tools to make specific interactions
more straightforward and efficient, it will allow for more time to
focus on the bigger and better picture of its residents.
Now,
there is place and time to bring your community together; however,
it’s up to its leaders (Board, committees, and management) to
allocate the time for planning and execution. In my opinion, most
communities don’t do enough to bring its residents together. Those
associations that do host socials, welcoming parties, etc. do create
an environment of unity where real friendships are built amongst its
residents. In no way am I saying to host a social or party next
week, what I am saying is that once this blows over, which it
eventually will, it's up to the leaders of the association to help
create an environment where residents feel cared for and
appreciated.
