WEBSITES ARE CRITICAL

As a management company, communication has always
been a component of success. However, many factors can affect
communication, from how the Board wishes to communicate to the
community's or the overall communication setup. Over the years,
we've realized that communities often have issues because of their
residents' lack of communication/information. Before the website
requirements were enacted, we recommended websites to improve
transparency. Over time, we understood what owners were looking for,
and through an easy-to-access platform, we established one method of
communication which improved performance and owner satisfaction. At
first it was a struggle; many communities did not agree with the
expense or the benefits of making such documents readily available.
After the legislation passed, adoption through enforcement grew, and
our board members also benefited as their managers became more
productive as all traffic was redirected to the websites.
A community website is meant to provide owners
with 24/7 access to their community files. It's meant to provide
transparency through Community awareness. The possibilities are
endless, and through this mandate, board members should take the
opportunity to budget accordingly to give their homeowners a virtual
experience that will set them apart from other communities,
enforcing transparency and minimizing concerns.
We've seen the value this tool brings, from
awareness to openness to visibility through the click of a bottom.
Even if not within the mandate requirements, we continue to
recommend it as it enhances the overall experience in a day and age
where technology is everywhere. Time will only enhance this
experience for all users.
