GRATEFUL MINDS. GRATEFUL HEARTS.

In the hustle of the day
to day and deadlines, sometimes it’s easy to block out the details
of the day, often forgetting how grateful we should be to have the
gift of life. Further, we forget that our happiness is our
responsibility to manifest. As
Eric mentioned on Monday, it’s easy to be thankful for health and
family; however, if we focus on being grateful for so much more, not
only will our surroundings change, but our lives will too.
Over the years, I’ve noticed that the most challenging Board
Members to work with are those that only see the negative behavior
of a vendor, fellow board member, or manager. I’ve also noticed when
they treat individuals in this manner that behavior is often
repeated. It’s a cycle that doesn’t get him or her anywhere.
To
better educate board members that fall into this trap, we started to
give our new clients a book named Whale Done by Ken Blanchard. In
this book, the author emphasizes the power of positive relationships
while redirecting negative behavior. In doing so, you develop a
productive work environment.
I
challenge the readers to take this long weekend to give thanks not
only to your loved ones and friends but, more importantly, to those
individuals that serve your community. Better yet, I challenge you
to take this approach for one month and see if things change within
your community and life as a whole.
I’d
like to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. I appreciate the time
you take each week to read this blog and the time you commit to
educating yourself.
